Contract Analysis in 40 Seconds: AI Assistant for a Law Firm
AI contract analysis service for a law firm: upload a PDF — the system marks risks, compares with templates, and generates a summary with recommendations in 40 seconds.
Challenge
The Client's Challenge
Every incoming contract required 2–3 hours of manual analysis: finding non-standard terms, comparing with the template, identifying risks by category. As the client flow grew, the team couldn't keep up and deadlines were missed. Hiring new lawyers for routine screening was economically impractical.
The law firm specializes in corporate deals and contract work. The volume of incoming documents grew with the client base, and significant lawyer time was spent on mechanical initial analysis — instead of the complex analytical work clients actually pay for.
Solution
What We Built
We built a web service: upload a PDF or paste contract text — the system extracts the structure, compares it with the firm's reference templates, and marks risky clauses by category (financial, legal, operational, reputational). It generates a brief summary with recommendations. A lawyer gets the full picture in 5 minutes and makes a decision.
Key Features
- Contract upload as PDF or text paste
- Comparison with firm reference templates by sections
- Risk marking by categories: financial, legal, operational, reputational
- Brief summary with specific recommendations for each risk
- Analysis history searchable by client and contract type
- Export of report as PDF for delivery to the client

“Initially the lawyers were skeptical — no one wanted to trust contract analysis to a machine. But within a month no one could imagine working without it. We take on more clients without hiring people.”
