Writing a technical specification was one of the most labor-intensive stages of pre-project work. Depending on project complexity, it took 5 to 40 hours: an analyst collected data, formalized requirements, and structured the document. This slowed the pipeline and created a bottleneck in the studio's processes.
The task emerged as the next step after launching the proposal service — as part of Frog Studios' systematic transformation into an AI-first company. Having automated proposal generation, automating spec writing was the logical continuation: the studio's standards and templates accumulated over years became the foundation for training the generator.
